Winter Lake, Thessaly

I visited this enchanting, serene lake in Thessaly, central Greece in wintertime. A morning fog clung to the mountains over the water and the surface was glass. The lake region is near the famous, cliffhanging Monasteries in the Sky at Meteora. This painting epitomizes for me the magic of the many places in central and northern Greece that are off the usual tourist path.
